Lions Petrea and Andrew Stacey, together with their daughter Indiana, have developed a full program that operates differently and is run more like a Leos or Lions Club, but for 5-12 year olds. It is a club in its own right. The Club is led by the children, and supported/guided by Lions from The Lions Club of the City of Adelaide as we are the supporting club.
Community service and helping others is so important, and you are never too young to start. These students are already showing their empowerment to the idea that they can have a direct influence and impact on their local community and beyond. We look forward to supporting our Lion Cubs as they develop skills in areas of leadership, project development and management, and community service, and can’t wait to see what they learn and achieve.
The cubs learn about:
- Community service
- Leadership skills
- Public speaking skills
- Helping the environment
- People living with disabilities
- Disadvantaged people in the community
- Project planning and management
- Australian Sign Language
We are excited to have been contacted by other Lions Clubs around Australia, and overseas, who are interested in learning more about, and adopting, our Cubs Club program. We look forward to hearing about other Lions Clubs who start their own Cubs Clubs by adopting, and implementing, our program.
