The Cubs Club Program

Lions Petrea and Andrew Stacey, together with their daughter Indiana, have developed a full program that operates differently and is run more like a Leos or Lions Club, but for 5-12 year olds. It is a club in its own right. The Club is led by the children, and supported/guided by Lions from The Lions Club of the City of Adelaide as we are the supporting club.

Community service and helping others is so important, and you are never too young to start. These students are already showing their empowerment to the idea that they can have a direct influence and impact on their local community and beyond. We look forward to supporting our Lion Cubs as they develop skills in areas of leadership, project development and management, and community service, and can’t wait to see what they learn and achieve.

The cubs learn about:

  • Community service
  • Leadership skills
  • Public speaking skills
  • Helping the environment
  • People living with disabilities
  • Disadvantaged people in the community
  • Project planning and management
  • Australian Sign Language

We are excited to have been contacted by other Lions Clubs around Australia, and overseas, who are interested in learning more about, and adopting, our Cubs Club program. We look forward to hearing about other Lions Clubs who start their own Cubs Clubs by adopting, and implementing, our program.

The Little Roarers Cubs Club

On February 19, 2019, our Lions Club launched the very first Cubs Club – The Little Roarers Cubs Club at Annesley Junior School. At the launch, the club name and logo were revealed. We were honoured to have District Governor Phil Bowman in attendance to announce, and induct, the Cubs Charter President and Vice President, and induct the Charter Cubs.

Follow our Lions Club on Facebook to keep up-to-date with what our Cubs are doing at The Little Roarers Cubs Club.

Pedare Cubs Club

Following the success of our cubs club program at Annesley Junior School, the City of Adelaide Lions Club and Golden Grove Lions Club have joined forces to start a second cubs club at Pedare Christian College.

The Pedare Pride Cubs Club was officially chartered on May 20, 2021. We were honoured to have District Governor Tony Pederick OAM to announce, and induct, the Cubs Charter President and Vice President, together with inducting the Charter Cub members (25).

We are very excited that our club’s program is gaining so much interest and that our second club is up and running. Stay tuned for updates.
