The first Variety ‘Bash’ in South Australia was staged in 1989 and since then it has become an institution on the SA social and fundraising calendar raising more than a staggering $40 million for children who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs.
The Bash has become synonymous with the Variety brand and each year hundreds of passionate individuals don their Bash outfits and head into the SA rural areas for 8 days of fun and camaraderie spreading the Variety spirit, and goodwill along the way.
On Saturday August 8th 2015, over 20 members from the City of Adelaide Lions Club arrived at the Victoria Park Race Course at 5am ready for a busy and fun morning at the Annual Variety Bash Launch.
Our members cooked a delicious breakfast for over 300 Variety Bash participants and officials, and a sausage sizzle for family members, supporters and spectators. It was a fantastic morning and we were proud to be a part of such an amazing event.
