Ian Steel, from Kick Start For Kids, attended our Lions Club May dinner meeting as our guest speaker. Ian talked about how he started the organisation, what they are all about and how they help disadvantaged children through their breakfast and lunch program, and also their mentoring programs. It was an eye-opening presentation.
Our Club donated $250 to KickStart for Kids on the night. After the presentation, our members started talking and were so inspired by Ian’s presentation that are Club members decided that they wanted to do more. It was decided that our Club would donate an additional $2,400 to KickStart For Kids. This amount would sponsor two (2) schools for an entire year, with the probability of making this an annual sponsorship.
