Since The Little Roarers Cubs Club chartered in February this year, we have been very busy. Here is a quick overview of just a few of the things we have done so far.
We have learnt some Australian Sign Language (we can finger spell).
We have learnt about people living with different disabilities and the challenges they face.
Participated in activities to gain an understanding of what it would be like to be deaf, blind, missing an arm or leg.
We have been practicing our public speaking and doing lots of related activities.
We met the team at the Australian Lions Hearing Dogs Training Centre and paralympian Libby Kosmala OAM.
We also collected glasses for the Lions Recycle for Sight project which was our first project.
We then started our own project which involved making activities and games for children at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital. We delivered these next week.
I would also like to thank you for your donation to the hearing dogs to allow us to sponsor and name a foster puppy. We love hearing about Spud each month and it was great to meet Spud and his foster mum, Lion Jennifer, a few weeks ago.
Sadly, this will be my last President’s Report as last week we had 8 of our cubs nominate for president, make speeches and our members have voted. I will let you know the results after our handover at the end of July.
On behalf of the little roarers cubs club, I would like to thank you for starting and supporting our Cubs Club.
A special thank you to Petrea, Andrew and Nikki for all your time and effort each week.
We love cubs club and can’t wait until next term when we start working on our next project.
Thank you.
