The Lions Club of the City of Adelaide has had an eventful start to the year, with quite a few things happening in the first couple of months.
We haven’t been our usual crazy busy with BBQ events, but so much work has been done behind the scenes. We’ve also catered for our first Fred’s Van and Hutt Street Centre breakfast for 2020.
We’ve had our first Hear Me Roar! Project Working Bee for 2020 which saw around thirty-five (35) people attend to help making our multi-purpose and personality cushions, and port pillows. We’ve made a couple of cushion and port pillow deliveries too. We launched our Techspace Learning Scholarship, and have just launched our Lions Get Active program.
We’ve heard from two (2) fantastic guest speakers at our February and March dinner meetings … Brenda from the Hutt Street Centre, and Megan McLoughlin from The Herd of Hope. When Megan spoke, you could have heard a pin drop. Such an inspirational and powerful story.
We have also held our nominations and elections for our club office bearers for 2020/21 at our March dinner meeting. Congratulations to our incoming office bearers.
Our club continues to grow having inducted five (5) more members this month, and they’ve jumped straight in to help our community. Welcome to the pride!
We have big plans for 2020 and we cannot wait to share them with you as the year progresses, so stay tuned and get involved.
