It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of PDG Tony Pederick OAM. He passed away peacefully at the Royal Adelaide Hospital on 2 October 2024, surrounded by family.
He was a passionate Lion, beloved District Governor and lived by his mantra of his DG motto “Together We Are United, Hear Us Roar!” He was blessed to have formed so many great friendships and to have worked with so many amazing people to achieve so many great things in the community. He was proud of his club and district.
Tony was not only a Past District Governor (PDG), he had served many years as Cabinet Treasurer, District Convention Chair, Multiple District Convention Chair, Redistricting Committee, Club President, Club Treasurer, District Diabetes Chair, District GMT Coordinator, and Zone Chairperson.
He was dedicated to, and passionate about, Lions, the community, and simply helping others any way he could. He was honoured to be recognised with the following awards: Melvin Jones Fellow, Lions International Presidential Medal, Helen Keller Fellowship, Club President’s Award for Outstanding Service, Australian Lions Childhood Cancer Research Foundation Gold Award, and a Council Chairperson’s Medal.
Tony especially loved that Lions became a family affair with his wife (Marilyn), daughter (Petrea), son-in-law (Andrew) and granddaughters (Indiana and Addison) all sharing his passion and following in his footsteps. Tony leaves behind a strong legacy.
