Distinguished guests, fellow Lions, Past Presidents, members and friends.
Firstly, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our outgoing President Mr. Andrew Stacey and Board for their dedication, leadership and service over the past year. Your efforts have strengthened our club and helped make a positive difference in our community.
I am truly honoured and humbled to accept the role of President. To be entrusted with this responsibility by fellow members is both a privilege and a commitment that I take very seriously.
Lions Clubs have always been about service, friendship and community. These values have guided our organisation for many years and continue to inspire people around the world to make a difference where it matters most.
As I begin my term as President, I do not see this as a change in direction, but rather an opportunity to build upon the strong foundation that already exists. Our club has a proud history of supporting our community, and I look forward to continuing that tradition together.
We are also committed to supporting our District Governor’s vision and contributing towards the achievement of our District goals through the work we do as a club.
Over the coming year, my focus will be on three simple areas.
Firstly, continuing to deliver meaningful service to our community.
Secondly, encouraging participation and engagement from all members, because every member brings valuable skills, experience and ideas.
And thirdly, helping ensure that our club remains strong, sustainable and welcoming for future generations.
I firmly believe that the success of any Lions Club is not determined by its President alone. Success comes from teamwork, collaboration and a shared commitment to serving others. Together, we can achieve far more than any one individual can achieve alone.
I look forward to working alongside each of you, learning from your experience, and building on the excellent work already being done.
In closing, I would like to thank everyone for your trust, support and friendship. I am excited about the year ahead and confident that, together, we can continue making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
As Lions, we may come from different backgrounds and experiences, but we are united by one common purpose – serving our community and making a positive difference. I am honoured to be part of that journey with all of you.
Let’s work together to make 2026 – 27 a memorable and successful year for our club, our District and the communities we serve.
