I’ve enjoyed my first year as President and I’m again honoured to embark on this role again. As challenging as this role can be, I can enter this next year with a slightly wise head.
As we have achieved so much last year, I look forward to another busy year. Recently, we held a review of the club and it was clear that members were interested in continuing and expanding the Hear Me Roar! Project and making this a flagship project of the club. Along with this, I’m still keen on hearing ideas and suggestions from our members to ensure that what we do with our fundraising monies go to projects, or charities, that are near and dear to our hearts.
This year, I’d like us to achieve two (2) goals:
- Increase of another ten (10) members into the club. So please invite family, friends, work colleagues, to one of our dinner meetings or events, to see how they run and get them signed up, spruik what we do and how we help others, and;
- To increase our enjoyment of attending meetings and each other’s company. I’ve got a number of ideas that I’d like to try in our meetings this year to be different, to engage us differently and so, again, if you have any ideas about this, I’d love to hear them.
Additionally, to these goals, I’ll be spending some more time in getting others involved with the running of the club and what goes on behind-the-scenes, especially Petrea. I’m keen for her to chair a couple of meetings in readiness for next year, which I know she’s looking forward to.
Thanks for the support I’ve already received and for your encouragement and vote of confidence already for the coming year. I really appreciate it and I’ll do my best to lead us into another productive year.
Thank you.
