During March – June 2021, our 201 C1 Lions District will be partnering with Diabetes SA to conduct diabetes testing in regional South Australia – Yorke Peninsula, Eyre Peninsula and Mid-North.
There are currently ten (10) events scheduled across regional South Australia and Lions from the local clubs will be working closely with Diabetes SA at these events.
In December 2020, The Lions Club of the City of Adelaide moved to support this project by donating $6,007 to purchase an Afinion 2 Analyzer and Alere Universal Printer for testing.
In addition to the above, our Club applied for a matching grant from the Australian Lions Foundation to purchase a second set of equipment, and we were successful. Including this grant, our club has now donated $12,014 to Diabetes SA for this equipment to be used for this project.
We look forward to hearing more about this project and partnership with Diabetes SA as it progresses, and what future developments may occur as a result.
