We have a small team of lions (Ray, Omaya, Richard and Mena) who have been busy collecting, sorting and delivering blankets, quilts and other bedding across Adelaide over the past couple of weeks.
A special thank you to Dennis, an 83-year-old member of the community who is passionate about helping others and keeps himself very busy knitting patches that he uses to make warm blankets. He says these blankets help keep his brain active and his mobility in good shape.
Our club’s blankets for the homeless project has been operating for decades, with thousands of people being supported during the cold winter months with blankets, quilts, bed sheets, rugs and other bedding. From handmade donations to club funds allocated to purchase blankets and sleeping bags, our mission is to help those less fortunate, keeping them warm and comfortable during the cold and sometimes harsh winter months each year.
